Submissions for the Booker Prize 2024 are now closed and submissions for the International Booker Prize 2024 are now closed. 

Please note, only publishers can submit entries to the prizes; authors, translators and agents are not permitted to enter the prizes directly.

Submissions for the Booker Prize 2024

Submissions are now closed to UK and Irish publishers.

The Booker Prize is awarded annually to the author of the best (in the opinion of the judges) eligible work of long-form fiction, written originally in English by an author of any nationality, and published in the UK and/or Ireland.

The 2024 prize is for a work published between October 1, 2023 and September 30, 2024. Authors are not permitted to enter their own works.

Submissions for the International Booker Prize 2024

Submissions for the International Booker Prize 2024 are now closed. The longlist was announced on 11 March. The shortlist will be announced on 9 April, and the winner on 21 May.

The International Booker Prize for fiction translated into English is awarded annually to the author and translator of the best (in the opinion of the judges) eligible novel or collection of short stories.

For 2024, eligible works are published in the UK or Ireland between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024.

The deadline for online entry forms was Friday September 8, 2023

The deadline for the accompanying finished works (print copies and PDF files) and supporting assets was/is:

  • Friday September 29, 2023 for works published between May 1 and November 30, 2023;
  • Friday January 12, 2024 for works published between December 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024.
