Tomorrow - Wednesday 23 July 2014 - we will be unveiling the longlist, or Man Booker ‘Dozen’, for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2014.
2014 is an exciting year for the prize, as it sees the introduction of new rules. From this year onwards, the prize is open to any author writing originally in English, irrespective of nationality, so long as their novel has been published in the UK this year. This means the winning author this year can truly say their book is the best book published in the English language that year!
The judging panel has increased from five to six. The 2014 judges are: A.C. Grayling (Chair), Jonathan Bate, Sarah Churchwell, Alastair Niven, Daniel Glaser and Erica Wagner. The literary world waits with bated breath to hear which titles are in the running for the 2014 prize – watch this space to see the result.
