As part of a very exciting schedule of events for the 2012 Man Booker Prize, we have teamed up with Picturehouse Entertainment for a series of special live broadcasts of the shortlist author event hosted by BBC Radio 4’s James Naughtie.
On Monday 15th October, the eve of the winner announcement of this year’s prize, the Picturehouse chain of cinemas and other selected venues will be screening ‘Prize Readings’ - an evening with the six shortlisted authors in cinemas nationwide, taking the prize to readers and book groups across the country.
The shortlist event itself is taking place in London's Royal Festival Hall and thanks to this new venture, for the first time nationwide book lovers will be able to enjoy and participate in the shortlist event at their local cinemas. With the likes of Hilary Mantel, Will Self and Michael Frayn on the longlist, it promises to be an evening of lively discussion.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, 17 August from the Picturehouse website.
For more information please refer to the official press release.
In addition to our major event at the Southbank Centre in London on the eve of the Man Booker Prize, some of this year’s writers will also be appearing at The Times Cheltenham Literary Festival on Saturday 13 October. Further details of this, and other events, will follow soon.
